Foundation Activities
The Grants Committee of the Foundation for the Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming (FEDW) solicits proposals from Episcopal Churches to assist local Episcopal ministries in serving the needs of the communities in which their churches are located. Funding may be requested for worthy charitable, religious or educational projects that are supported by local congregations. Three types of awards are possible:
A. Foundation Grants
B. Sargent Grants (awarded by the Sargent Foundation for Episcopal Ministries based on Foundation recommendations)
C. Wind and Wings Grants (awarded by Diocesan Council based on Foundation recommendations)
An estimated $150,000 will be available in 2010 from the Sargent Foundation for Episcopal Ministries (SFEM) to support local Wyoming Episcopal ministries. Annual awards from the SFEM may not exceed $50,000. Funds may be expended for programming, personnel, support services (e.g., communications, travel, etc.) or capital facilities improvement.
Proposals that include matching funds as a demonstration of local Episcopal and/or community support will receive higher priority for SFEM funding. The minimum cash match is 5% of total project costs. Support from ecumenical partners and other public-private organizations are encouraged.
